Sorenson Global Impact Investing Center Accelerating Investments for Positive Societal Change on a Global Scale.

OVERVIEW

Description

The mission and purposes of the James Lee Sorenson Global Impact Investing Center (SGII Center) are to accelerate and advance the understanding and application of principles of free enterprise to create scalable and sustainable, global societal change.

Created through a $13 million gift from James Lee Sorenson, the SGII Center at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business seeks to provide students with real-world experience and interaction with industry leaders in the impact investing space. The SGII Center services the growth of the sector at-large through various activities, including providing affordable and valuable early stage advisory services (e.g. finding and mentoring social entrepreneurs, optimizing early stage business strategies, performing data driven analysis and due diligence) for leading impact funds, innovative non-profit organizations and PRI-focused private foundations. As well as sector support for development in fields such as healthcare, housing, education, agriculture, sustainable energy, entrepreneurial livelihood and training
