OVERVIEW

Description

Since 2007 to date, Enterprise Asia has gradually expanded its reach and today has presence in 32 countries over Asia and the Pacific. It is an organisation with a rich and broad network of entrepreneurs of over 8,000 members, where 95% of these members belong to medium and large entities.

Through its flagship programmes Enterprise Asia promotes entrepreneurial excellence across Asia. These programmes include:

- The Asia and the Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards (APEA)
APEA currently has presence in 12 countries such as in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Brunei, Philippines, Hong Kong, China and India and in 2015 network is expanding to Taiwan and the Middle East. This recognition programme serves as a regional bench-mark as Asia Pacific’s most prestigious award for entrepreneurs. It honours outstanding enterprising men and women who have proven their enterprising spirit, whilst not neglecting the social responsibilities that comes with business leadership. It aims to band leading entrepreneurs across the region to spur greater innovation, fair practices and growth in entrepreneurship, encouraging continued leadership towards sustainable economic development for the region. It is also a platform for Asia's business leaders and entrepreneurs to network, share information and form lifetime acquaintances and alliances.

- The Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards (AREA)
AREA recognises and honours Asian businesses for championing sustainable and responsible entrepreneurship in the following categories: Social Empowerment, Investment in People, Health Promotion, Green Leadership, SME CSR and Responsible Business Leadership. These programmes demonstrate companies’ leadership, sincerity and on-going commitment in incorporating responsible and ethical values, legal compliance, respect for people and individuals, involvement in communities and protection of the environment into the way they run their businesses.

- The Asia Entrepreneurship Forum (AEF)
Held bi-annually AEF was last held in 2012 in Macau SAR, China. It is an open platform for thought leaders and provides the catalyst to communities when undertaking regional initiatives to improve the cogs of the entrepreneurship landscape. The Forum engages with prominent speakers, government and business leaders, associations, organisations and members gathered for the 3D2N event to shape regional industrial agendas and to unite as a voice for fair ground rules. The next AEF is to be held in 2015.

- Networking-based activities
Year round there are gatherings held to bring together members, top leaders, businessmen, government leaders, trade organisations and the participating public to enhance connections, match businesses, and to be part of the platform. The annual Chinese New Year CEO Luncheon is one example of such activities.

- CSR initiatives
Enterprise Asia has conducted various programmes over the years. Some examples include, the Women Entrepreneurship Fund, Room 42, the Entrepreneur Success Circle, Youth Entrepreneurship Programme and Childfund Asia.

Enterprise Asia is always looking for more ways to connect with people and to people in the name of entrepreneurship and its development in Asia and the Pacific, and more.
