OVERVIEW

Description

GameChangers is a nine month youth program offering real-world skill development in global citizenship through engaging game play. We use carefully selected board and video games as an entry point to simulate conflict, practice conflict resolution, and collaborate towards shared goals. We practice these skills kinesthetically, through an ongoing practice of ultimate frisbee and challenge courses. Diverse groups of students are strategically brought in contact for an intense summer immersion program, that is built upon throughout the school year by weekly meetings. Our goal is to leverage those collaborative skills learned through game play towards societal change. During the school year, students are exposed to speakers, workshops and service opportunities in various areas of global citizenry. Students completing the program earn a certificate in Global Citizenry and mentorship for college admittance.
