Description

The goal of Urban Co-Lab is to build a center for entrepreneurial activity and innovation that serves as a catalyst for the revitalization of a historic yet rapidly evolving corridor in Austin. By leveraging some of the brightest and most diverse minds in Austin and from throughout the nation, Urban Co-Lab aspires to incubate companies creating sustainable, scalable solutions to education, housing, transportation and other areas of importance to urban corridors creating disruptive advancements for global communities and the local economy.

Urban Co-Lab Austin is particularly unique in that this forth-coming social entrepreneurship venture is located in the heart of one of Austin’s most historic corridors, the East 12th Street community. The effort is a collaborative initiative of Mission Possible! and is guided by a deep commitment to the cultivation and inclusion of the local community.

Urban Co-Lab is also proud to build the pipeline of access and cross-cultural social capital through a unique partnership with Huston-Tillotson University that includes providing up to six opportunities for college internships for honors students to work alongside start-up founders. This creates a mutually beneficial engagement by building experience and exposure for students while simultaneously providing valuable, complementary, human resources to emerging businesses.
